Dodo is built on a simple principle: your notes are yours. Here's exactly how we handle your information.
Dodo ("we", "us", or "our") is a notes and tasks app for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using Dodo you agree to the practices described here.

Information you create. Notes, tasks, reminders, and voice recordings you create in Dodo are stored locally on your device by default. If you create an account, your content is also synced to and stored on our servers so it stays available across devices.
Voice transcription. When you record a voice note, the audio is sent to an AI transcription service to convert your speech to text. The audio is used solely for transcription and is not stored or used for any other purpose.
Usage analytics. We use Firebase (Google) to collect anonymous, aggregated data about how the app is used (e.g. which features are tapped, crash reports). This data cannot identify you personally. Firebase's privacy practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Device information. We may collect the iOS version, device model, and app version to diagnose technical issues and improve compatibility.
No account required. Dodo does not require you to create an account and does not collect your name, email address, or any other personal identifiers during normal use.
We use the limited information we collect solely to:
• Operate and improve the Dodo app • Diagnose crashes and technical issues • Understand which features are most useful • Comply with applicable laws and Apple App Store policies
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond making Dodo work better for you.
When you enable App Lock, Dodo uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework to authenticate with Face ID or your device passcode. Biometric data is processed entirely by iOS — Dodo never has access to your Face ID data, and it is never transmitted off your device.
Dodo is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@dodonotes.app and we will promptly delete it.
When you delete a note, task, or voice recording, it is moved to an archive. Archived items remain there until you choose to permanently delete them — nothing is removed automatically. Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 12 months and then automatically deleted. Because your data lives on your device (or our servers if you have an account), uninstalling Dodo will remove your local copy.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
• Access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you • Deletion — request that we delete personal data we hold • Correction — request that we correct inaccurate information • Opt out — disable analytics data collection via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements

Dodo integrates the following third-party services:
• AI transcription service — processes voice audio to generate text transcriptions • Firebase (Google) — anonymous usage analytics and crash reporting, subject to Google's Privacy Policy • Apple LocalAuthentication — Face ID / Passcode lock, processed entirely on-device by iOS • Apple App Store — app distribution and in-app purchases, subject to Apple's privacy terms
We do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs or social media trackers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via an in-app notice. Continued use of Dodo after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
